It’s the end of TV as we know it (and I feel fine)!

Since 1996 we have been waiting to be released from the clutches of the monopolistic cable companies (as outlined in the 1996 Telecommunications act). It looks like this July we will finally be free!

Have a look;

FCC ruling changed phone industry in 1968; it could happen again today

"TV will change forever in 2007," says Danny Briere, CEO of market analyst firm TeleChoice.

  1. wow this could be really interesting. i never understood why cell phones in europe are capable of working on any network through their sim card, while us carriers like verizon dont even work on a sim card platform. maybe if the cell phone industry gets “unbundled” manufacturers will start focusing on making cell phones that actually work rather than making the slimmest/smallest/prettiest phones that get awful service and battery life.

  2. Here is an article and video that supports Danny Briere’s statement concerning gaming consoles and their role in this FCC decision.

    I love my Xbox.

  3. Good points. We certainly need some more regulation in the mobile space for many reasons. I hope it does not take as long as it has taken for the cable industry

  4. adam this article is great! i am glad the FCC is taking this into consideration and hope it gets passed. it could set the wheels in motion for some significant changes…and at least free cell phone users from all the restrictions of certain ‘plans.’

  5. nice!!!!!!!!!!
